• Brock Purdy’s white-hot start to the season continued, as he tossed four touchdowns and finished as fantasy’s QB1 despite dealing with more San Francisco injuries (Mike Evans and Trent Williams both left Sunday’s game). Purdy’s weapons are running thin, but he’s getting a ridiculous 9.5 YPA (while taking no sacks!) and behind only Josh Allen among fantasy quarterbacks over the first three weeks. Purdy benefitted from a long gadget play this week, but BCB also had a 45-yard TD run negated by penalty.
• Deebo Samuel recorded the most receiving yards (80) in a game without a reception in NFL history.
• Evans was carted late in the second quarter with a rib/oblique injury that was causing him incredible pain. With Ricky Pearsall, De’Zhaun Stribling, Demarcus Robinson, Christian Kirk, Jake Tonges and now Evans all injured, George Kittle (and Samuel) should see increased targets, while Brandin Cooks and Jordan Watkins become fantasy sleepers.
• Jeremiyah Love entered with 20 carries over two games, but he was given 17 over the first three quarters Sunday. He finished with 26-of-32 RB opportunities and appears to have taken over as Arizona’s workhorse sooner than expected.
• Michael Wilson saw a league-high 17 targets, while Mazda Marv will require a trade to have any fantasy value this season.
• DJ Moore recorded a whopping 38.5% target share while returning from injury. He looks in store for a big year.
• Omarion Hampton saw just one target and was removed from multiple situations around the goal line. My condolences to those who took Hampton over Kenneth Walker in drafts.
• Tre’ Harris led Los Angeles in targets, while Quentin Johnston suffered a bad drop on third-and-10 late in the fourth quarter. To call the Chargers a massive disappointment would be an understatement.
• Deshaun Watson struggled (4.8 YPA) passing but added another 11 rush attempts after entering with the league’s third highest designed run rate. Watson has upgraded to QB1 status in the right matchups, although his upcoming schedule doesn’t appear favorable at all.
• Chris Myers said the defender “finished him off” when describing a Watson sack.
• Quinshon Judkins looks like a fantasy bust who can’t be trusted in starting lineups.
• The Browns have gone 48 straight games without allowing a 300-yard passer.
• Bryce Young overthrew an open Jalen Coker on a potential 73-yard touchdown in the second quarter before the breakout WR left with a quad injury. Young appeared to play through an injury himself and came screeching back to earth Sunday.
• Jahmyr Gibbs is on pace to record 2,623 yards and 26 touchdowns this season. His cutback TD run in the third quarter reminded of Barry Sanders.
• Garrett Wilson and Kenyon Sadiq benefitted from Adonai Mitchell’s absence and the matchup, but the rookie tight end impressed Sunday.
• Breece Hall left injured in the third quarter, and Braelon Allen becomes a must-add in all fantasy leagues.
• The Jets have zero interceptions over their last 20 games.
• Josh Downs had an 8-4-72 line over the first 20 minutes but had just one catch for five yards afterward. Still, Downs finished with a team-high 11 targets and looks like a potential top 25 WR with Alec Pierce out.
• Tyler Warren committed a drop during a rare target that occurred downfield.
• Dalton Schultz saw zero targets in the first half after totaling 14 last week, finishing with just three during a disappointing performance by Houston’s offense. The Texans totaled only 223 yards against a Colts’ defense that had been gashed for 1,000+ over the first two weeks.
• Rashee Rice eased some concerns with a 37.5% target rate, while Kenneth Walker is on pace to total 431 touches.
• De'Von Achane's knee injury "does not sound optimistic." Ollie Gordon acted as Miami’s clear RB1 after Achane departed, but Jaylen Wright was inactive with a foot injury. Wright and Gordon both become priority waiver wire adds with the unfortunate Achane injury, although the result is likely a committee in a bad offense.
• At least Malik Willis finally started running Sunday, which we can only hope becomes a trend.
• Cam Skattebo saw 24 opportunities, but it may be worth monitoring that he’s fumbled during all three games to open the season. He’s averaged 3.5 YPC over that span.
• The Titans had one first down in the first half of a game in which weather played a role.
• Aaron Rodgers had gone seven straight games without multiple touchdown passes before tossing two in the first quarter Sunday. He’d finish with three during Pittsburgh’s win.
• Jaylen Warren (21 opportunities) saw a full workload for the first time in his career, and only a touchdown was missing from his fantasy line. Warren can be a fantasy RB1 as long as Rico Dowdle is sidelined.
• Joe Burrow is now 1-34 during his career when trailing in the last 8:00.
• Jaxon Smith-Njigba has emerged as fantasy’s WR1 moving forward.
• Jadarian Price lost a fumble for the second straight week (during Seattle’s opening drive), and he ceded goal-line carries to both Emmanuel Wilson and George Holani. Price had fumbling issues in college, and he’s a shaky fantasy start.
• Sam Darnold threw his first pick-six in five years but finished as fantasy’s QB2 during his return to action.
• Jacory Croskey-Merritt had a nice 48-yard TD run nullified because Antonio Williams wasn’t aligned with the line of scrimmage.
• Marcus Mariota impressed in a highly difficult matchup. He’s a Superflex option with Jayden Daniels out and should keep Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs’ fantasy values afloat.
• Parker Washington made tremendous contested catches for touchdowns during back-to-back plays (after the first one was nullified). Washington is so clearly a baller, and he’ll also benefit from being Liam Coen’s slot WR. He’s a top 10 WR rest of season.
• Trevor Lawrence took kneeling at the one-yard line too far with nine minutes left, but he’s a hero for claiming to do it for Bhayshul Tuten’s fantasy managers.
• Cam Little had the distance but was wide right during a 70-yard field goal attempt.
• Drake Maye had a 21-yard TD run nullified, but it’s panic time after posting yet another dud fantasy performance against a pass-funnel Jacksonville defense. Maye missed a wide-open Pop Douglas for a would-be 33-yard TD in the second quarter and committed one of the season’s funniest lost fumbles. Maye has eight interceptions and eight fumbles over seven games since the start of the playoffs. He has just one TD pass and an NFL-high seven turnovers this season, including another awful interception in the end zone Sunday (to Travis Hunter).
The Patriots’ offense has scored 29 points on 30 drives this season, which is the fewest through three games since the 2021 Jets during the first three starts of Zach Wilson’s career. Maye was nearly the MVP winner last season without AJ Brown, but he’s been a bottom tier QB to open 2026.
• Justin Jefferson left in the second quarter with an ankle injury, and Jordan Addison was a huge beneficiary. Kyler Murray missed a wide-open Addison on a would-be 75-yard TD at the end of the first half, or his big game would’ve been even bigger.
• Murray has been downright bad with Minnesota so far, and the Vikings are 3-0 despite being out-gained by 244 yards.
• Chris Godwin had an 85-yard touchdown catch negated by penalty in the third quarter and later lost Baker Mayfield to an injury. Mayfield dislocated his right thumb and will undergo an MRI on Monday. Tampa Bay’s season might already be finished.
• Brock Bowers’ status was in doubt toward the end of the week according to some reports, but he led all tight ends with 13 targets during a dominant performance. He’s already a top 15 fantasy tight end in scoring this season despite missing the first two games.
• The Raiders scored 30+ points for the first time in 40 games and have already matched their win total from last season.
• Travis Etienne limped off the field with a hamstring injury in the third quarter, boosting Alvin Kamara’s fantasy value.
• The Saints led after the first quarter for the first time in 24 games but committed four turnovers in the fourth quarter
• The Saints/Raiders combined for an NFL record six tight end touchdowns Sunday.
• Lamar Jackson had just 20 pass attempts, while Derrick Henry had 26 carries; Henry was close to scoring three touchdowns but was stopped multiple times at the goal line.
• Zay Flowers saw a 30% target rate while playing through his hamstring injury.
• George Pickens led Dallas with 11 targets, and at least no catastrophic injuries occurred because of Brazil’s shaky field conditions.
