Like so many of you, when I realized on Wednesday that a bunch of AI thought leaders were engaged in a sprawling, terrifying conversation about their product's potential to end humanity, my thoughts immediately turned to my dynasty portfolio.

Back in November, it seemed like a pretty great idea to deal away vets for early-round picks in 2027. But at the time, the possibility that 2028 might not happen was not yet on my radar. In light of these new revelations about amoral artificial superintelligence, I am certainly rethinking the decision to flip Rhamondre and McLaurin.
I've been managing dynasty rosters since the mid-1990s, however, so this AI business is not my first experience with apocalyptic scenarios which threaten both the league and the Earth. Let's not overreact, people. Surely our elected officials are all over this situation. Hearings and legislation are on the way. Don't fret. It's probably gonna be fine.
And if it's not fine, we're all gonna be food for Skynet anyway. You won't have to worry about any last-place punishments. No one is sending you to Waffle House. *Shrug*
My official recommendation, then, is to zig when everyone else zags. The rest of your league will be treating all those faraway picks as valueless and doomed. Suddenly, the 1.01 in your 2029 rookie draft is worthless — which makes this moment a perfect time to buy low. Let's build for the future, folks, just in case it happens.
