If you happened to either draft MarShawn Lloyd or scoop him off the wire, trading him feels like a matter of some urgency. Lloyd is entering his third NFL season having played exactly 10 regular season snaps, on which he's gained 18 yards on seven touches. He's had more injuries than touches in his NFL career. In recent days, he's become a locked-in sixth-round fantasy pick.
You obviously don't know if Lloyd is any good and neither do I. We do know he was no threat to Josh Jacobs before the veteran was placed on the commissioner's exempt list, following multiple misdemeanor charges and horrific allegations. None of the analysts now pushing Lloyd as a high-ceiling RB2 can possibly say with any confidence that he's either good enough to be a featured NFL runner or likely to survive the workload uninjured.
Lloyd did work with specialists in the offseason to address the root causes of his various lower-body injuries, so, to be fair, it's not as if he hasn't aggressively attempted to save his career. If Lloyd can function as a contributing member of Green Bay's offense this season, it would be a phenomenal story. Easy player to root for, no question.
