DDD’s takes around the league, with TV/movie talk at the end.
Brock Bowers over Trey McBride
McBride is coming off an epic season, but it was aided by garbage time stats and a league leading 649 pass attempts. He erupted after the QB change to Jacoby Brissett, who’s unhappy with his contract and is hardly a sure thing to start all season; Arizona is rebuilding in the league’s toughest division and owns the NFL’s most difficult schedule in 2026. McBride needs Brissett to contend with a healthier Bowers to be fantasy’s top tight end this season, but Carson Beck looms.
Bowers was somehow the TE2 in PPR fantasy points per game last year despite playing through a sprained knee he suffered in Week 1 and on an inept Raiders’ offense that scored the fewest points in football by a significant margin. Las Vegas experienced a dramatic upgrade in systems bringing in Klint Kubiak during the offseason.
The Raiders still have a quarterback question, but either Kirk Cousins is an upgrade, or he’ll remain so washed Fernando Mendoza will take over sooner than the Raiders hoped. While the Cardinals have a crowded WR room with Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson fighting for targets, the Raiders might have the weakest pass-catching competition in the NFL. Bowers is my TE1 entering 2026.
Jordyn Tyson over Carnell Tate
Tyson suffered multiple injuries throughout his college career, but he possesses a ton of upside after breaking out as an 18-year-old. He had 47% of Arizona State’s receiving yards and saw the most unrealized air yards among all wide receivers over the last two seasons despite missing games. The Saints play indoors and have an offense that ranked first in no-huddle rate and plays per minute during Kellen Moore’s first season in New Orleans. Tyson will battle Chris Olave for targets in 2026, but Wan’Dale Robinson is arguably equal target competition for Tate in Tennessee.
