It’s a thinner DFS slate this week with six teams on bye, and salaries have dramatically increased for Jonathan Taylor, Christian McCaffrey and Bijan Robinson. Puka Nacua, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Amon-Ra St. Brown are on bye, while Ja’Marr Chase and CeeDee Lamb could face tough shadows (although Sauce Gardner is coming off a concussion).
It’s also National Tight Ends Day week if you want to walk down narrative street - the position scored 16 touchdowns and set an NFL-record in receptions (177) during the "holiday" last season.
Quarterbacks
Bo Nix ($6.0K) vs. Dallas Cowboys
Nix was a fantasy bust over the first three quarters of last week’s game, but he became the first player to ever record multiple TD passes and runs in the same quarter in the fourth. It’s never fun chasing last week’s stats, but Nix has a highly favorable setup Sunday. The Cowboys have allowed the most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season despite facing Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, Bryce Young and a half of Marcus Mariota last week. The Broncos are tied for the third-highest team total (27.5 points) on the slate and will benefit from a matchup with a Cowboys’ team averaging the most combined yards and points in their games this season.
Joe Flacco ($5.4K) vs. New York Jets
Flacco has been a dramatic upgrade over Jake Browning and has resurrected the fantasy values of Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. The Bengals produced an NFL-high 11 explosive plays last week while Chase saw a career-high target share (51.1%). Cincinnati has a strong projected total (26.5 points) that’s just one point fewer than the Bills. The Jets have ceded a 13:0 TD:INT ratio this season and could be without Sauce Gardner (concussion) this week. Flacco has elite DFS value.
