Week 7 Game Recaps: Bo Nix's historic fourth quarter

New York Giants @ Denver Broncos

• The Broncos were shut out over the first three quarters but scored 33 points in the fourth during an epic 19-point comeback victory. Bo Nix became the first player in NFL history to record two passing TDs and two rushing TDs in one quarter, as he went from bust to outscoring every other QB by 10+ fantasy points. One of Nix’s touchdown passes came thanks to a deflection, but fantasy managers will take it.

• The Broncos came in with a major rest disadvantage after just playing in London and the Giants coming off a Thursday game.

• Jaxson Dart was the QB3 this week in a tough matchup on the road. The Broncos limited him to just 11 rushing yards, but the rookie QB totaled four touchdowns despite finishing with a -17.0% CPOE in the fourth percentile. Dart attacked downfield and made the most of his 15 completions. His third touchdown toss came on a pass intended for Wan’Dale Robinson, but Dart destroyed the blitz Sunday. He’s locked in as a top 10 fantasy QB moving forward.

• Cam Skattebo lost rushing scores to Tyrone Tracy and Dart but recorded his first receiving touchdown of his career. The Giants’ difficult schedule continues with another matchup with the Eagles in Week 8.

• Robinson put up 12-6-95 against a stout Denver secondary. He owns a 27% target share without Malik Nabers and looks like a borderline WR2 rest of season.

• NFL teams leading by at least 18 points with six minutes to go had won 1,602 straight games until Sunday.

• The Giants missed two extra points and have now lost nine straight road games.

Las Vegas Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs

• Patrick Mahomes had 206 passing yards with three scores while leading the Chiefs in rushing at halftime. He finished as a top five fantasy QB this week despite playing just five possessions! Mahomes had a no look pass to Rashee Rice and executed the season’s best fake out (volume up).

• Isiah Pacheco led Kansas City’s backfield for the second straight week, but Brashard Smith finished with a team-high 19 touches thanks to the lopsided score. Smith, who leads all running backs in yards per route run by a mile, should be rostered in all fantasy leagues.

• Rice immediately saw a team-high 10 targets during his return from suspension. Rice would’ve scored a third short TD from Gardner Minshew during a trick play in the second quarter, but it was nullified by a false start. Rice’s usage around the goal line is money for fantasy.

• The Chiefs have gone 16 straight regular season games without losing a fumble, and this was Andy Reid’s first career shutout.

• The Raiders somehow gained just three first downs and ran only 30 plays, which is the fewest since at least 2002. The Chiefs had that many first downs.

• Las Vegas was missing Kolton Miller, Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers, but Geno Smith would’ve been benched by now if the Raiders had a better alternative than Kenny Pickett. He still might be.
