DFS Week 2: Stacking a Bengals Bounce Back

Scoring was way down in Week 1 (as usual), highlighted by numerous star wide receivers no showing. Moreover, the matchup with the lowest total (Jets/Steelers) was by far the highest scoring game on the slate. Because football. At least we have more information now. DraftKings’ pricing is tighter as expected this week, but bargains remain.

Quarterbacks

Joe Burrow ($6.6K) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Bengals are coming off an embarrassing performance in which their offense gained the fewest yards (seven) in any half this decade. Cincinnati emphasized not getting off to a slow start this year but failed; Burrow has averaged just 191.8 passing yards (5.8 YPA) with a 5:5 TD:INT ratio over six career games in Week 1. Historically that hasn’t carried into Week 2s. Burrow was the only QB in the league last week not to complete a pass farther than 15 yards downfield, but he gets a favorable spot for a bounce back in Week 2.

Jacksonville yielded the most passing yards and schedule-adjusted fantasy points to quarterbacks last season. Burrow’s YPA jumps nearly a full yard when at home throughout his career, and Cincinnati has one of the highest projected totals (26.5 points) this week.
