It's liberating finally being able to write about DraftKings and DFS. I’ll dabble some on Fanduel as well, but the 0.5 PPR scoring makes it more touchdown dependent; we’ll concentrate on DK here. Week 1s historically have the softest pricing, and this year is no exception. Your Week 1 lineup is going to appear loaded, but your opponents will feel the same.
Quarterbacks
Trevor Lawrence ($5.3K) vs. Carolina Panthers
Lawrence gets Liam Coen calling plays this year and a favorable Week 1 matchup. The Panthers have Derrick Brown back, but Carolina allowed the most points per game in NFL history and the second-most schedule-adjusted fantasy points to QBs last season. One concern is Panthers’ opponents had the lowest pass rate (48.7%) last season, but there’s hope an improved Carolina offense can push back against Jacksonville’s vulnerable defense.
The Jaguars are tied for the fourth-highest implied team point total (25.5) on the slate, yet Lawrence is priced as the QB16 on DK.
